RPFANS Bursary

Title:
Registered Professional Foresters Association of Nova Scotia Bursary

Amount:

$750, awarded annually

Criteria:

  1. 3rd year full time student enrolled in an undergraduate Canadian Forestry Accreditation Board (CFAB) approved forestry degree program at any university in Canada.
  2. Nova Scotia High School graduate.
  3. Must be an active participant in faculty or university events and make a positive contribution to student life on campus.
    Overall development of the candidate toward becoming a responsible professional.

Background Information:

Universities are asked to submit the names of up to three candidates  along with the following information for each: their address and contact information; GPA; previous awards and/or bursaries; work experience; and some observations from the Faculty regarding the students participation in extra curricular activities and their leadership skills. Applications are to be submitted to the Registered Professional Foresters Association of Nova Scotia by October 15 of each year.

Selection of Candidate:

RPFANS Council will make the final selection, based on the information provided and information obtained locally. Following the selection, they will report back to the respective University.

Exceptions:

If there are no students from Nova Scotia that meet the criteria, the bursary will not to be awarded.
